Leisure Suit Larry III - Passionate Patti In Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals

Description of my copy
I’m pretty sure I also stumbled upon this edition on eBay at some point, and it was totally worth it. From my perspective, this game is an absolute gem — hilariously funny and easily one of the best in its genre. The graphics, despite the limitations of 320 x 200 pixels and just 16 colors, are nothing short of impressive. The artist behind the visuals truly worked magic within those constraints, creating a vibrant and engaging world. Each scene pops with personality, capturing the playful tone of the game perfectly. But it’s not just the graphics — the atmosphere is spot-on as well. You kick things off as Larry, a character who's already exuding charm with his classic Hawaiian shirt, sunglasses, and a drink in hand. Unfortunately, his tropical paradise is short-lived when his wife, who's “gone native,” kicks him to the curb. Larry is then left with no choice but to don his trusty leisure suit and embark on his next adventure — all while facing the tropical heat! The gameplay is a mix of wit and quirky challenges, and what truly makes it stand out is the inclusion of Passionate Patti. Playing at about 60% (which is part of the fun) adds a whole new layer of intrigue and humor. And let’s not forget the music — it’s a masterpiece! The soundtrack is incredibly catchy, setting the perfect mood for Larry’s absurd journey. You can’t help but find yourself tapping along to the tunes. This game is a joy to play and a true throwback to the golden era of adventure games. The combination of humor, great music, and creative design make it a must-play — and a must-keep in any collection.
Box Contents
The box is the same format as Leisure Suit Larry 2 and the earlier Sierra SCI-games. My copy comes with the following items included:- The game disks on 4x 720Kb 3.5" DS/DD. I own version #1.021 Int #0.000.572.
- A Sierra Waranty Registration Card, addressed to Sierra, P.O. Box 485, Coarsegold, CA 93614.
- A "genuine tacky postcard" (according to the box) from the fictional island of Nontoonyt where the game is set. On the backside: "Pictured on reverse: Nontoonyt Island native wildlife on Waikiki Beach, a favorite spot for natives and tourists alike." The front shows Larry with a woman in bikini. The postcard is "Possibly Printed in Nontoonyt, but most likely in the U.S.A"
- A letter from President Ken Williams of Sierra (picture shows his wife Roberta as well), which encourages players to buy an Ad Lib or Roland MT-32 sound card (even though the MT-32 is not a card per se). The same letter is found in the Leisure Suit Larry 2 box.
- A full-color, 48-page, Sierra Tenth Anniversary catalog. It lists the price of this game as $59,95.
- The Nontoonyt Tonite Your Guide To The Island guide. Mine didn't have this guide so I have a printed copy (PDF found somewhere on archive.org). This guide is essential since you need it for the copy protection, both for your locker code and to guide Patti through the bamboo forest later in the game.
